I have a 2002 Ranger Edge and I want to disable the horn beep when I lock or unlock the truck via the key fob. I only click once and the horn sounds.

apparently holding the lock and unlock button at the same time for a few seconds should disable the horn honking when you lock it. Or you can just take the horn relay out entirely.

@Pretzeled_in I tried that and it didn't work. I have the horn fuse removed, but was hoping for a way to disarm the horn when locking and unlocking and still have the use of the horn.

I think that's in the owners manual if you can find one.

My horn only sounds if I press the lock button twice when locking. No horn if pressed once. It came from the factory like that. So, there must be some way to program that.

The horn does not sound when pressed twice while unlocking. It just unlocks both doors.

You can get 2002 owners manual here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/gener...d-ranger-owner-manuals-1996-2011-models-3747/

Try page 106

Keyless entry uses a RAP(remote access personality) module, it is what activates the horn relay but ONLY if you press the LOCK button twice
So there may be another issue
Your picture doesn't look like the Fob in the owners manual, no Panic button, so.............

Also does your Door Ajar light work?
Does it come on when a door is open, and go off when its closed

It says in the manual that horn will do a double chirp if a door is not closed when you press LOCK button to let you know a door is not closed
If you have a bad Door Closed switch then horn would sound

You could locate your RAP module usually behind drivers seat and behind the plastic panel, usually has white or grey plastic housing
There will be a Yellow/green stripe wire, it activates the horn relay, cut it, but leave it so you can reconnect it
I don't think the RAP monitors that wire, but not sure

And if you wanted you could change the Horn fuse to Key on only power using a relay

Door ajar light only works when truck is running. If I lock from the fob with door open the horn only sounds once. Double clicking on the remote doesn't do anything as the horn already sounded on the first click. Also, the truck doesn't have power locks. It's strange that all the key fob searches all have the panic button. I have yet to find one like mine.🤔

What’s the point in pressing the lock button if the truck doesn’t have power locks?

The key fob will lock and unlock the truck, but inside there's no power locks. Hope that makes sense.

Yes, it makes sense. It’s an add-on system, not factory installed.

+1 ^^^, yes, it was a dealer or previous owner add on, so won't follow Ford owners manual instructions

You will need to find the controller and disable the horn activation from there, there should be a brand or model number on it and hopefully you can find the wiring diagram for it on-line

Listen inside the cab while locking and unlocking for a relay "click", that relay will be IN the keyless entry controller
