How organized is your shop?

i have a 19 year old.....and have been home less than a year the last 9.

a fuggin hurricane would have left it better.

My 18 year old is not allowed to be in my shop by himself. I have let him use my tools and he slams all my damn tool box drawers. I open them and find everything piled up in back... drives me nuts... and things left all over the place. My 10 year old is better at picking things up!

Do you think that confusion over where your tools are and what’s in your shop has had an effect on the repair and upgrade results on your Ranger?

damn straight it does...

the limited space between the thing that identifies as a ranger and all of the motorcycles.....the precious time i would have had to work on the ranger would merely been wasted making space....luckily for me there is no fucking free personal time as every second of it is spent investing in divesting of our properties

but be assured.....i am valiantly attempting to remedy that situation if i can survive the short term.

he is the surprise baby...and the only boy. the 4 girls....our eldest is 37...and the youngest 26.

but he may as well have been an only child in many respects....

he has massive potential talent. while i am not capable of forcing habit with absence, he is coming along. time will tell.

I have a 30x50 or 60 pole barn so packed full you trip over stuff. I have part of it partioned off to work on stuff...but currently my engineless LTD lives there so im still working on shit in the yard...

2 boats/trailers, 3 or 4 snowblowers, a woodchipper, a 73 honda CB350, numerous bicycles and truck/car parts, 2 or 3 rototillers, a old single bottom plow, 2 351W engines on stands, 2 tractors, 4 riding mowers, numerous other odds, ends, and junk...

As far as tools and things go....shits scattered everywhere...i know where most everything is though, im just bad about putting it away.

Its a miracle really i get done what i do....i guess i just function better in a mess? No idea.

EDIT....

Make that 5 riding mowers. Forgot about the gravely 18h thats been sitting waiting for 5 years to get fixed

about this cb350

Happy now?

Mine‘s a mess, I made the mistake of starting to use it before it was finished. Insulating and finishing the walls has been discouraged because I have shit all along the walls.

The guy who poured the Concrete screwed up the surface so I’ve got endless dust, I don’t have a lift yet and I dislike using creepers so I keep a sheet of cardboard around else the little fiberglass bits get into my skin and it doesn’t feel good.
I’ve treated one section of the floor with a densifying sealer, not sure if I wanna spend $400 to do the rest.

Sounds like they finished it wet and used “fiber mesh” which is garbage… sadly a lot of concrete guys have no idea how to do it correctly…

Snagged a pic before I started working. Pretty tidy

I like the rack on the upper right, bolt cutters and a helmet... :)

I'll climb up to the loft later and get a pic of my current disaster...

my fav is the little Ranger in the window next to the jeeps only sign

Mine is getting worse before it gets better. Wood and hardware have been put in the garage for cart to be built, a thing to lift a truck bed cap or an RTT, and a drawer box for the 2019.
