how much would this cost to fix?

Buy it, drive it, and fix it a little at a time to get it to where you want it.. you'll end up doing mods later on as the money gets better anyways. You can get door skins for it. Try seeing if a boneyard will give you a dented panel to practice your body working skills on. But yeah.. you should buy the truck.

Good Luck

thats what i figured. The biggest thing is im not really going to be wheeling it, so id like a cleaner truck. But i like the looks and everything of the fx4s. Ill use it as a truck, do some towing etc. but for the most part, itll stay on the street. I guess its not too bad and I can just keep my eye out for used matching parts while i have it.

What else should I look for with damage like this, or is it probably all body damage? Any chance of frame or serious damage? (i dont think so but i figured id ask)

Im looking at it as a 2004 ranger with 85k miles on it for $5000. sounds good to me. But again, id like more opinions on this, how much do you think i could get it for? thanks guys

well one good way to tell if it has any frame damage is to ask him how many miles it has had put on it since it was wrecked and see if the tires have worn funny

I agree with twisted steel...i've seen trucks on the road that look a hell of a lot worse then that. Just buy it and work on it slowly. Piece by piece you'll get new doors and panels or even try to pull them out before you decide to get all new panels. Heck you might be able to pull alot of the major dents out and just keep working on the small ones and you may get it to look as good as you want it to without putting a whole lot of money into it. Good luck.

my advise is to go on to www.car-part.com and see how much jy are getting for the doors and other stuff you need to fix it then call a body shop and see roughly how much to paint it before you make a decision i hope this helps a little

Id say if the truck is $5200 and you can swig another 1-2 grand than take that 6 to 7 grand and buy one that doesn't need fixed?! in fact if your up for the drive theres on here in bellefontaine set up exactly the same way exept its silver for like $6500.

im guessing 3-4 grand to have her looking decent, im currently trying to get some of my dents fixed, the newer the truck the more expensive the panel and it looks like your gunna have to paint most of it

Take these pics to a body shop and ask
If the truck is payedoff no full coverage and he cant afford to have fixed
fender easy change door easy change its the bed side and cab conner thats not so easy but do able i would offer half what blue book is no more

theres a 2004 fx4 level 2 with 85k miles on it for $6500? Does it not run or something? I just saw one today that was asking $13,000 and it was only an fx4 offroad.

Ive thought of taking them to a body shop. Its a 4 door so all of that is an easy fix (but prob pretty expensive) and the fender I can prob fix good enough. The bed doesnt look too bad so I could prob live with that (at least for now)

I need to think this one out.

i have seen 04s for around 6500-8000 so it is not worth it unless you get it reduced more or fix it yourself

yea but are they fx4 level 2s? with 85k miles?
i see 04 that low, but they have like 140,000 miles or something

you would spend much more time trying to repair that that than it's worth. If it was me I would look for a good used set of doors (if it is a four door) and throw a front fender and a box side on(a good used box might run you less) then have it painted. the dent in the driver side bed looks repairable. .

i agree, the driver side dent is nothing a good toilet plunger cant fix and for the passenger side...oem wholesaler would get you new doors fairly cheap, 600 max i would think. fender and bed side from a j/y, the front door to if it is there. the back door, unless you get struck with divine luck from above in the j/y, you will most likely have to buy it....so it could run you as little as 250 and as much as 1000 in my opinion for replacement parts.

and just a side note, every newer ranger i have seen in the j/y has been sooo f'd up that the most you could get off it was seats and maybe a tire or two. but that truck is what i would want if i were in the market!
