I had a '94 Ranger 4x4 4.0 back around 1999-2000. Traded it on a new Nissan Frontier Desert Runner that ended up getting totalled before I'd even put enough miles on it to change the oil.
I just found out my grandpa just traded in the B3000 he's had forever. Somebody quoted him something insane like $1,500 to replace either the front or rear main seal. Wish I'd known beforehand, would have bought it, fixed it, and sold it.
I currently have two. My current DD, which is a 1987 regular cab shortbox with a 2.8L (yes, a 2.8L), Toyo-Kogyo 5 speed combo. It just hit the 425,000km mark yesterday, but obviously not on one powertrain. It took three engines and three transmissions to get to that mark. However, the clutch has lasted since I first swapped the 2.8L engine in at 163,000km.
My other truck is a 1988 extended cab. It is getting a 1987 2.3T, Mazda M5OD combo along with many other goodies. I am hoping to have it on the road some time this summer.
I am also eyeing a 1990 regular cab long box that has been sitting in front of my house for the last six months. I have left notes on the windshield, but no one has called.
