1990 ranger 2.3 wiring, I've got the v8 in and the dura spark wired and operating, i've temporarily bypassed the neutral safety switch, but still no power to the red trigger wire that went to the solenoid, is there another switch somewhere i'm missing I pulled the 4 cyl out and have not dissabled anything, i'm just grafting in the duraspark with the external regulated alt. that worked well just havent figured out the NSS. interesting note the wiring in the truck for the nss is not the same as the wiring diagram. the clutch switch closes 2 pink wires and also a white/blk and black/white wire, there is a green wire in the harness also that goes no where, the truck did have a 5 speed mazda tranny and now has an aod. I hope all that makes sense, any ideas

There was no neutral safety witch originally since it was a 5 speed. So what do you think you have bypassed?? The clutch switch?

mounted on the pushrod of the clutch is a slide switch that has 6 pins, when the clutch pedal is up the 2 center pins are closed, when the clutch is pushed in the 2 pins at each end are closed, this connects the black/white and white/black at one end and the the 2 greens at the other end, Is one set of those wires the NSS?

I did trace the red/blue solenoid trigger wire from the right front fender to the master cylinder area it changes color to a pink/blue wire, gotta love how ford does that

The clutch pedal position switch can have up to six wires. they are in side be side pairs. One pair is for ECU to know it's in neutral, one pair is to disengage cruise if you had it, the third pair is the starter interrupt.

Not sure that has anything to do with your issue.
