2001 Ranger 4x4 Edge, 4.0L., 158,000 miles. No leaks, no major repairs, no rust..I do have a slight tear in the drivers side seat cover. I have replaced 3 light bulbs in the dash. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
That is good to see a SOHC engine with 158,000 miles on it and still running well. Some people predict the SOHC engine will come apart at 100,000 miles.
I have over 92,000 miles on my 02 SOHC engine and it is running stronger than ever with no repairs. I plan to keep running it to 300,000 miles
1996 mazda b4000 4x4. 4.oL OHV. 191,1xx miles. Mostly freeway. Runs fine, no valvetrain noise and has plenty of power.
Replaced every freakin' component of the cooling system trying to find a problem. Can run in Californian 112 degree heat towing up a hill and the needle never leaves "normal". Couldnt be done before the cooling fixes.
Running 10-30w valveoline synthetic oil. and fram extended guard filters...every 4K miles.
Transmission is original. shifts strong, never "sticks" in a gear. Oil is changed every 20,000.
Ill say I have had extrordinary luck with my truck and expect 250,000-300,000 miles out of the current motor. After that some type of motor swap and turbo will occupy the engine bay. or possibly a diesel.
Still holding my breath tho...anything can happen. time is of the essence
my 1994 4.0 has 212 000 miles, thats right, miles not kilometers, despite me living in canada. The truck was brought over from california in 2006. Motor runs very stong.
I've got 252,000 miles on my '98, my dad has 201,000 miles on his '95 and my '94 had 190,xxx on it. oh, and the oil is still clear brown at oil changes...fingers crossed.
Ijust turned 137,000 on my 99. no leaks no issues. Im on my 4th trani if that tells ya how i drive. I did have a light tick when cold 4 about 2 minutes but since i hydrolocked it 2 weeks ago and had to clean her out, no tick... I LOVE THIS TRUCK!
my father just retired his 99 with 315,000 NYS rotted the body and frame right out...motor ran fine with only minor issues water pump, intake gasket, alt.
