How many miles on your 3.0 ?

miles

i have a 91 ranger with a 3.0 and 156k on the clock. so far its gotten a cold air intake i hade to custom make it from spectra which can be found at your nearest oreilly auto parts store.its got a a flomaster exaust,a msd coil and bosh 4 plugs. it runs like a champ.i took it to the track and it ran a 17.3 at 81 mph.yippy so far i have betten a mustang gt, a murader an f350 o and my co workers super FAST dodge neon ha ha

92, 225k....Stock clutch too, but since i just got my Bronco done i took the ranger off the road for the rest of the winter, and i plan on going over it and fixin it up a little over the next year or so.

My 1999 3.0 liter has more than 131,000 miles and still runs good. only problem that I have had with the motor is that I blew an oil pan gasket once, but I guess that kind of stuff happens when you ramp your daily driver.

171,XXX. Aparently the motor was rebuilt because it lost a freeze plug(previous owner) and burned up. Runs great.

94' XLT auto tranny

When I drive I tend to drive hard and have never had a real problem. It had a tranny seal problem once, alternator, heater core, radiator, and the usual maintenance items have been replaced.

146,xxx on my 94 splash 4x4. It used to be ford vibrant red...but 2 tours in cali and 1 in hawaii made it just an ugly orange. White now. The biggest problem I had was during the first 5 years, was the pot-metal drivers seat-back release lever...broke one every 1.5-2 years. must be on the 5th one now. 1 new clutch, 1 new radiator (my fault), and then recently got into the engine upgrades from TRS.

Last time I let someone else work on it (Indy), they didn't use a gasket on the T-stat housing. It didn't leak, but one bolt rusted into the manifold real good...so there I was, snapped bolt/snapped easy out, hanging my head at the machine shop while they laughed.

Good Luck;
JR

2wd 94 shortbox regular cab 5spd with 190k. motor, solid as a rock. rest of the truck not so good. it has a broken leaf spring, a cracked wind shield, just replaced the ring and pinion, trans has developed a wine, needs new rotors, needs new shoes, clutch is goin, muffler's gone. not to mention the various body damage. i had one good panel but then my friend backed into it. surprisingly, very little rust considering the lack of attention it has been given and being driven in michigan. would like 4wd and better suspension. that things floaty as heck. needs alotta work. anyone ever convert to 4wd or put a 289 in a ranger?

yeah well

i got 102k on my 92 and runs good shes had a couple minor hickups but all minor as in less than $100 fixes put a 5speed in and cowl hood and sum other goodies to make go FASTER 4 the track:icon_bounceblue:

278k on my 91 and still running strong. 2nd trans, previous owner ran the original out of fluid. bought the truck for 50$ fixed the trans line that was leaking and drove it for 6 months before the trans finaly let go.
