OK, if I spent half the time doing that I spent thinking, I'd have a lot more free time.
I did my headliner with the help of a 46 year upholsterer who's been around many blocks... We had the headliner board out in less than 15 minutes including unscrewing everything.
1. Don't even think about removing all the interior trim they tell you to take out in the manual. Just unscrew everything you can at the ceiling and pull two Christmas tree fasteners on either side and the black clips that hold the headliner board.
2. Pull back on one of the rear quarter interior panels and slide the headliner board in that direction about an inch.
3. Let it drop free on the other side of the car.
4. Slide towards the other side about an inch to free it completely.
5. Rotate 90 degrees parallel to the ground.
6. Carefully drop the side pointing towards the front below the steering wheel.
7. Slide it out the passenger door.
