How hard is it to work at McDonalds??

willindsay, you're getting hosed. I admire your attitude of loyalty, but you really should be having a series of talks with whoever's in charge. For what you pay to get in there, I would hope they would pay the workers more than that. Document what all you've been doing and find out why you haven't been considered for the position. Be prepared to leave if you don't get what you have earned. And, if you find another job, take it.

Ya I know used to be a great place to work but now it sucks. I'm talking to my Lead at work and she's been on them to promote me but they always come up with bs as to why not. I'd be going to them my self but I'm a full time college student during the week and on the weekends when I work They are always off/hiding in there offices(making up bull crap rules and procedures for stuff they've never done).

I will be taking time out of my day Friday to go speak to them and figure out what the heck is happening. I'm just trying to hold out till after Christmas when we close for 3months so I can get my unemployment which will hold me through the winter. If/when I speak to out managers I'll be laying it on the line that if I'm not making more than 8$ anhr I won't be returning next year. I don't see this as an unreasonable demand.

Oh and on a side note for working at the company 5yrs I didn't recieve a bonus I was promised a crappy little chinese watch but they didn't even come through on that. What i got.... a ice cream cone:annoyed:

As much new stuff that we have to do are my McD's, I would like to get an ice cream cone...am I asking to much? Yet the store manager can get them all day when he likes.

And they finally made me have to give up wearing ym blue shirt (old style of crew person uniform) and get a red one.

What is that, weez?

BAM!
McLobster :icon_bounceblue:
this guy knows what's up!

I also cant believe people put thier lives at risk by coming through drivethrough wanting there stuff made a certian way due to be diabetic or lactose intalerant, etc.... Either come inside and do it yourself or just make your food at home, plain and simple.

i agree with you on this here... i honestly miss hamburger wednesdays (29 cents) and cheeseburger sundays (39 cents) it's not that i eat out a lot... ok, yeah, i do... but a lot of that is lunches at work, because i hate making a lunch... there should be several affordable options for lunches... mcdonalds, i'm looking at around 10$ for a meal, drink and fries, subway, with my staff discount (subway is attached to my work, so they give us a discount) foot long meatball (cheapest sub they have) is like 6.35 with tax, for just the sammich, around 9 for a meal... taco del mar is one of the better ones, a massive mondo burrito for like 6.80, and a meal for around 8... and it's a LOT of food! i ate butter chicken from wok box yesterday, butter chicken, which comes with naan, and a drink, was like 13.00 with my 10% discount with them (my work has a lot of discounts in the area)

a&w is the same kinda boat for pricing.. i just want somewhere i can get a decent sized meal for $5... you used to be able to... not any more...

i wouldn't be going back for less than 10... and even 10 is low... i'm at the point where if things keep going the way they are at my work, i'm going to tell them i need 17 or better or i'm going to start looking for a new job... but i've got 25 days left till my benefits kick in, so i'll be doing this after i see the dentist and they pay for it... i know i can't afford to do it...

WHAT"S the deal with the icecream cones....if i go to Mickey's after 10pm & ask for a cone....."Uhhhhhhhhhh...errrrr...we uhhhhhh....the icecream machine is broken!"

What the............!!!!!!!!!!

they stay open til midnight down here...what happened to the dazes when you could actually get food until closing time...now they start shutting down the store 2 hours early!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Example: Happy Daze Oil Change Emporium

"Sure we're open till 6 pm...We can change the oil in your vehicle------

Uhhhhhhhh...Sir.....we drained the oil,

but we....uhhhh...the oil thingy isn't....

You need to bring your truck back tomorrow so we can put the oil in it"

(the end....)

i've encountered the same thing before at wendys. "oh the frosty machine is broken, sorry" they're just lazy and wanna get out of there ASAP after they close.

i used to do the same thing when i worked as a cook at a sports bar during college. i'd clean the clean and flat top and suddenly we would be "out" of burgers or chicken or whatever. i had to get home and do homework/study though, so it was for a good cause lol.

no, doing your job properly until the business closes, and possibly later, if a customer comes in at the last minute, THAT'S a good cause!

if i'm off at 10pm, and the store closes at 10pm, and a customer walks in at 9:59:59 and wants to spend 20 minutes shopping, he spends 20 minutes shopping, though of course, we will let him know that we are closed and help him find everything...

i hate the cop out answer "sorry, we're not closed yet, but you can't come in because we will be closed before i think you will be able to finish shopping" that's retarded, spend a few minutes helping someone, it's called "customer service"

i used to work at Mr Lube, we would be closed at 8pm, and the 4 big garage doors stay open until 8pm on the dot... we would all ask to close early, and not a single supervisor would let us... and sure enough, we would often have a car pull around back at 7:59:59, right as the "open" sign at the front turned off, which is on a timer, and we had to serve that customer, though with 4-5 people working, an oil change gets done in about 5 minutes

Our ice cream/shake machine is on till 2 in the morning before it boils the milk mixture inside so that it will be good for another 14 days (doesnt take that long to use it) and is ready to be used again by 5 when we open up. Has to be cleaned every 14 days or it will lock up and shut down until you take it apart and is apart for at least 45 minutes before it will allow itself to be used again.

All I can say from lastnight is somebody was complaining about how their chocolate shake didnt look like a chocolate shake but yet it was and the sides of the clear cup should display nothing but brown shake mix. We had to make 3 of them to please them and one of the so called not chocolate shakes I ended up dronking was in fact chocolate. All I could think of was go to steak in shake then.

Fountain drinks never get messed up for me. Hahaha.

I've had them messed up before. It CAN happen! :icon_pepsi::icon_pepsi::icon_pepsi:

Spicy Chicken Sandwich for $1. Can't be messed up.

Kids are idiots. :icon_confused::icon_confused::icon_confused:

For use having an automated beverage server (ABS), it doesn tmake a mistake when it comes to making drinks, its the person capping them and handing them out that messes them up.

McChicken, that you have to try to screw up. I can make one by myself in 15 seconds, that is with the bun toasted and ready.

I have a good one. My girlfriend and I once went to pick up meals for us and her family (about 6 meals) from Jack in the box. We drive down there and get everything and go back to her parents house. We start opening up everything and guess what?........ 4 of the burgers had no patties on them! So me and her drive back down there and explain what happend and they give us the "fixed" burgers. We drive all the way back to her parent's house again and open the new burgers up......... 2 of them STILL were missing the meat!! This time her dad goes to the store and unleashed the wrath of god on 'em. by the time he was done he had gotten us a full refund, of the food, he even got the manager to pay for all the gas we spent driving back and forth. (it was about a 8 mile round trip) and about an inch thick stack of $5 gift certificates equaling about $400 in free J in the B! Yeah, I ate alot of jack in the box that year. :icon_thumby:

dude, I can make a mcchicken in about 15 seconds, and i've NEVER made one before... that's one of the simpliest burgers in there (and best, imo) bun, meat on bottom, mcchicken sauce on top, lettuce in the middle, done...

actually, i could go for a jr chicken right now, but i just ate 3 eggs, i don't think i can eat a 4th animal of the same species in one "sitting"

though off topic, i really do like killing as many animals for a meal as possible... used to get a big xtra, with a chicken mcgrill patty on it, and bacon... so it was a beef, chicken and bacon all in one burger, and it was FREAKING GOOD! used to call it a milti-meat combo burger... and it cost anywhere between 3.00$ and 11.50 depending on who wrung it in... usually it was just a big xtra with backon, then "add meat" on the salad menu which worked out to around $6.00... but of course the big xtra no longer exists, and prices have gone way up... 7.50 for some of the burgers, plus tax? ridiculous!

Your way is the wrong way of making the sandwhiches...everything is stacked on the top bun and the bottom is last, hince why when unwrapped, it is up side down....mayo, shred then McChicken on the top then the bottom is put on and wrapped, and my store doesnt do corner to corner either and that is faster and easier to wrap too. Plus the mac, tarter and mayo sauses come in guns too.

mcchickens come in boxes up here... i think the only thing that gets wrapped is hamburger, cheeseburger and jr chicken... everything else is a box

and we also don't have mayo on our mcchickens... it's mcchicken sauce, it's similar, but slightly different, i can't quite pick out the difference in taste...
