Hey guys quick q. I recently decided I'm going to go with the fabtech 3" spindle lift for my '04 2wd ranger edge ext cab. I'm getting the spindles for $550 and the add a leaf in the back for $69. The shop wanted $700 to install so I said no thanks. My question is how hard is it to do the spindles and about how long would it take to do?

also on a side q, that a good price for the kit?

Ok thats no that bad. And how much is a ball joint puller? Also how much tech knowledge would I need to do this? last thing, are doetsch spindles and good? I was looking at those since they are a little cheaper

this will give you a ideal of what your looking to tackle. same concept but you wont be replacing the upper arm or your factory springs.

I belive I read at one time the only down fall to the doectch spindals was that they don't have steering stops. and that the calipers get pressed in and you lose brakes for a pump. After a real tight turn.think I seen the info on dezertrangers.com a year or so ago.

You can rent the ball joint puller at your local autoparts store and its simple to do just take your time and don't rush things as for the quality of the spindles, I haven't heard any bad things about them and they've been around for a few years so you should be fine

is replacing the ball joints necessary if all im doing is replacing the spindle, not the upper arm?

thanks for the help guys. probably get started on it in a week or two

im down in murrieta. and i might have to take you up on that offer when i get the kit. thanx

It just got brought up again actually.

The steering stop contacts the caliper at full lock so all you need to do is grind it down.

so all that needs to be done to doetsch spindles is grind down the steering stops? i know with fabtech the lower control arm needs to be cut 1/4". is this the same with the doetsch spindles??
