I might be needing a body lift to allow clearances on my tbi swap. Went to my local truck shop and they said it was a 8hr job and in labor alone i was looking at 600$!!!!!!!!!! It cant really be that hard, how long has it taken yall to do it and what special tools would be needed? I plan on doing it my self needless to say.

It was a task for me and a buddy. Get a buddy to help you out if you can. About 4 1/2 to 5 hrs is what it took us to do my last bl on my 99 Ranger. Then we had to spend time going over everything to make sure we did not miss anything. Then you got to drive it for awhile to make sure all is well and then re-tighten stuff. The steering extension is a plus to make sure it is done right the first time. All the brake lines are just about enough length from the factory and you don't have to worry about them but you still need to double check them out as the bl is going in place.

On a BII it's about as easy as they get. Get two tow straps, two engine hoists, and one friend. Should take a nice Saturday.

Thought about cutting it and putting in a cowl hood, but that wouldnt look to good i dont think. Plus any ways i rub and dont want to trim my fenders just yet.

I have done both BL's on my Ranger and Explorer in my driveway, by myself. Don't remember it taking very long either. No 600.00 worth of labor. the toughest part was getting the rusted together front mounts. Sawsall took care of that pretty quick.
