{can't get picture to work}

I have not yet took a good look at it, but I was sitting here before work started and just wondered "hmmm....how does that section come off"
Just incase the picture does not show up, I am talking about that tray \ pocket thing that sits on the hump just under where the passenger air bag 'on & off' key is. I am driving a 2008 Ranger sport, auto, with 60/40 bench seats, and was thinking about taking that out, then making a custom part to go there for a CB & or Ham radio. :headbang:
I see some good threads were people have done a nice just making their own custom set-up but can't see where anyone said how they took that off.

I don't have one here to look at but if I remember correctly, there should be some mats in the bottom of the compartments that you have to pull out to remove the screws. The restraint control module is under there though.

See of this works... this is what I am looking at...
the tray / pocket thing, I didn't look in the bottom of the pocket to see if there were any screws but I would think there would have to be more then that holding it, and does the vinyl flooring going all the way under that? or is that where that "restraint control module" is like hondaxr650 said.

Pull the rubber mat off the tray where your iPod is. There will be 2 big round clip things that you can put a flathead screwdriver in. Loosen them 1/4 turn and the whole piece should be able to slide up and back off of the bracket that is attached to the floor.

The restraint module is forward of the deep compartment in that piece, but yes that piece hides it.
