Alright guess, Im having a dumbdumb moment. I was just outside about to attempt to tint my own windows. But... I dont know how to get my manual window handle off to pop the door panel off? I dont really have to take the door panel off but... i want to.

so anyone that knows how to remove the window handle on a 2002 please chime in

thanks

The crank has a cover over it the shape of the "arm". Pop the cover back and theres a T15 torx behind it. I believe its a T15.. cant remember though. I took my windows out completely when I tinted them, but in reality, you just get a lot more dust and the water is harder to get out.

Scratch this whole post! Just unrolling and cutting the tint was starting to piss me off.

thanks though

Screw tint, it's nice to have across the top of the windshield, but that's where I draw the line. Tore it off every vehicle I ever bought that had it on it.

tint looks nice, its not that hard to do it your self, make sure your inside a windless buidling/ area and take your time and should turn out ok, look up videos on youtube

I think the wind was the real kicker for me. I was out behind my garage. And I have the rain guard things so its really had to line it all up on the outside of the window and impossible to do on the inside.

I hate doing my own window tint. I get one side looking perfect and I will mess up the other side...so now, I take it somewhere to have it done. I had my Rogue done for $65.00 lifetime warranty for all 7 windows. I did my wife's Corrola for $59 for 4 windows. Prices include the glare strip. My 06 Wrangler ws $30 for two windows. It is time to re-do my Ranger. I had it done in July off 99 when I bought it new. Last week I noticed it was starting to get a few small wrinkles on the drivers side and I am taking it in to our tint shop near us. The tech told me he will take off the old tint and redo two windows and the glare strip for $45. It is a fair deal since I don't want to mess with it trying to remove it myself and maybe scratch up a window or the windshield (glare strip). I will let the guy do it since he does such good work. You just got to shop around as I do to find the better deal. I called 5 tintThey only use the best tint and they do great work and have the best prices and thay have been around for 10 years here in our area.

I do all my own tinting. I have done it for years and the more I do the better I get at doing it.

I called everywhere reputable withing a 45 minute radius and the cheapest for the two sides and the rear is $150

Ill probably retry it inside my garage when I get some spare time. I wonder if it would be worth it to pop off the rain guards to help.

You don't have to take them off. When them get in the way all you have to do is lower the window after you make the intial cut to size it on the outside of the truck. Make sure youo are using a soap and water mix, I find hot water to work better as it makes the tint a little more pliable and easier to work with. Any questions PM me.....you aren't all that far from me either, I could shop you so tricks, come on up.

Not sure about other places, but Iowa won't allow tint on the front doors.....only the windows that are to the rear of the driver's seat.

Illinois didn't until Oct 31 of last year. The law states that you can go over 50%.......my fronts are at 20%

I might have to buzz on up for a visit. And I thought illinois was only legal to go down to 35% on the driver and passenger window?

I paid a shop to have my windows re-tinted. I just had to remove the interior door piece for them to have a good access to the window. They have a computer cutter that cuts the shape according the vehicle windows. So every cut of tint is the same and fits exactly. The shop had a special for $65 for 4 side windows. For me, it was $35 for the front side windows and I went with their best tint. Because they were very experienced, they had my truck done in 15 minutes for just the windows. A year later, the tint is still clean and bubble free.
