How does a a rear differential work?

just curious about the first part, what does putting one guy's junk, on another guy's neck have to do with differentials?

Wow, nice video! It clearly explains the whole complicated mess of gears inside the pumpkin. I've always wondered how that thing worked. Now I know. That video should be put into the tech library.

I didn't really get it until the end where the two people are walking on the wheel extension pieces. Now I understand.

Really though, thanks for posting this video. The diff has always been a source of wonderment for me. It's much simpler in there than I had imagined.
