I bought some adjustable camber bushings for my '86 4x4 and was wondering if there's some kind of "trick" to getting the old ones out? they don't seem to move at all and the book i have isn't to helpfull. thanks for any help.

I had to take mine in to a tire shop, the mechanic had to heat them up to get them out.I tried large ball joint pickle fork and hammer and only managed to chip little pieces off.Good luck!

They rust in place pretty well. I always get under them with an air chisel to remove them at work when doing alignment.

Is all i have to do is take the castle nut off the ball joint to get the bushing out? or do i have to get both ball joints loose and removed?

Removing Caster Bushings

I HAVE A 97 RANGER AND HAVE TO REPLACE CASTER BUSHINGS AS WELL WHATEVER YOU DO DONT HEAT THEM UP,THER IS A SPECIAL TOOL YOU CAN GET THATS CHEAP BUT FIND A GOOD ALIGNMENT SHOP AND THEY CAN DO IT SINCE YOU HAVE TO GET AN ALIGNMENT ANYWAY MY SHOP CHARGING $100 FOR EVERYTHING :headbang:

Please don't type in all capital letters, its the equivilent of yelling on the internet.

Remove your pinch bolt and air chisel them out, or like stated above an alignment shop will probably have the puller for them tho if they are seized in there the air chisel is the better option.

i just finished installing both. Turned out to be easier than i thought. I just took the top ball joint nut off and loosened the bottom one and broke them loose. Then just used a prybar and a screw driver to get them out. worked quite nicely.
