How do you like your 5g?

I think my 71 bronco had a 9” . Only had it a month so didn’t really know everything about it. Was wore out and no longer reliable as a daily driver , so down the road it went. Wish I could of kept it but the engine was out of my ‘88 ranger at that time and the tempo dropped a rod. Traded even up for a 82 zephyr Z-7 with a 200-6 & a auto (C5 ?) I heard the guy I traded the bronco to sold it and the next owner had the motor go on the trip home.

Other than the power and there being more room in the cab that the new Ranger has compared to the older ones, I don't necessarily think the new one is better. Time will tell how they hold up compared to the older ones.

The point on the bumper taking a beating thing, blame the government with their crash ratings and crumble zone requirements. I'm sure the manufacturers weren't all that upset when they were told they had to install weaker bumpers on their vehicles. Weaker = cheaper. The idea is that the vehicles gives instead of the occupant. It's easier to replace a vehicle than a person.

With that being said, off road bumpers are in the future for both Rangers. So the crush zones for those will go away. One truck at a time though. I only have so much money and too much month before the money runs out.

bumpers go bump.

I forget what car it was but i owned something that actually had springs and shocks between the bumper mounts and the frame...

That was a real bumper...

a good bumper wont leave marks parking "New York" style.

My 1981 Mercury Lynx had that. You were supposed to replace them after you hit something.

@sgtsandman @HenryMac

Either of you have the base radio? Does it have Bluetooth connectivity? I'm not impressed new stuff doesn't come with cd players, I at least need to be able to connect my phone for pandora. Everything I've found to read about online is about the fancy radio I'm relatively sure.

Found my answer.

Ah yes the answer... the answer is yes lol.

Cantaloupe is not an answer it's an argument!

If you got the money, get a new ranger. I enjoy the hell out of it and don't miss my old ranger one bit

I got supercab bc no kids and I got other 4 door vehicles. I needed a truck bed and this works perfect while still being a Ranger.

Only worry I have is with some of the grumblings about direct injection engines and how long they might last based on how some Focus engines have faired at 100k+ miles.

I've put close to 20k miles in 6 months before covid hit and haven't had a single issue with the truck.
