Especially the long ones that are very difficult to clean! Any tips would help.

We usually store the funnels on the wall, and even upside down they get spider webs and general dirt in them, even if we clean them after every use!:icon_confused:

Any suggestions on keeping the funnels clean.

Paper towel, and as far as cleaning them goes, I have some damn good Industrial strengh de-greaser. Actually, for my really long one, and the flexible ones, I use a thing that is made for cleaning glasses, like dishes n' sh!t.

regular, but how can you justify the cost of using brake cleaner, it is not very cheap, and a good work rag would be far cheaper, and like I said before I got those long black plastic funnels, about 24" long and the small end isn't even a 1/2". Putting a rag in there with a long screwdriver will not get it entirely clean.

I don't want to put DIRT in my motor/gas tank/transmission!

you dont use a whole lot, and i get it from work;brownbag;

They make some funnels with screw on caps at both ends. I don't know how much they cost but i would think they're probably little more than the average funnel.

I don't.

I use the disposable funnels. You can find them at any auto parts store, Kmart, Walmart, and sometimes they show up at the dollar stores.

I've used regular printer paper if I haven't had anything else available.

WD40 and a paper towel pushed through, or a shot of brake-kleen. cheap, simple, and effective.

I keep mine pointy end down and a decently clean rag shoved in the big end. Works pretty good and gives you something to wipe it out with when starting and finishing.

I hang them upside down over a bottle in my garage. I guess I always just give them a quick wipe down before they are used. And I really only use them for oil changes so not very often.

Ditto on the brake clean....we use it our shop by the 5 gallon pail. I spray it out with that, then blow it clean. If it needs more then that then I just hit it with the parts cleaner (varsol or enviroclean crap) or the pressure washer.

Rifle barrel cleaning rod or shotgun cleaning snake with a rag stuck on the end.

That will get THE most dirt out for you.
