how do you keep funnels clean?

No point in introducing other contaminants into them, so I store them sitting on their big end with a shop towel in the bottom to catch drips.

we use "clean funnels" at work. There actualy deere's on brand. They are flexable plastic with a cap for both ends. If we have issues with dirt then we rinse it out in the parts washer.

I keep mine pointy end down and a decently clean rag shoved in the big end. Works pretty good and gives you something to wipe it out with when starting and finishing.

I shall try this!!:icon_thumby:

wipe it out good when done, little brake/carb cleaner then toss in a wal-mart bag tie and hang on the wall. works great :icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

OR USE THE DAMN THING MORE OFFTEN LOL

my junk dosent stay together long enough for a little contamination to have any effect...... disposable is the way to go if you are really that concerned. most people that wheel have just come to an understanding that wheel bearing grease, motor oil, ATF, gear lube, coolant, etc all get replaced or removed so often that a little lint ball or metal shaving wont really do much if anything. call me crazy but i have NEVER swapped ANY part on the side of a trail without adding some "extra" mud, sand, creek water, grit etc to the parts i am replacing.

I just know I'll have to clean mine on the occaisions I need it. I made a kitchen sink into a parts cleaner and used to rinse it with mineral spirits. Or run a rag through it with a long dowel.

Wipe them out with a grease rag and stick them in an old refrigerator. It keeps them all clean in a sealed enviroment regardless of size.
