I want to install a true water temp guage in the cab, I guess one like from autozone or somewhere. Never messed with anything like this. Can someone give me a "How To" guide on installing one? Thanks.

Instructions will come with the gauge. When you purchase, take them out of the box and see if there is something you don't understand. :)shady

If you intend to also keep your original sender you will need a tee and a couple of pipe nipples. Drain the radiator down and remove the gauge sending unit from the block. Take the sending unit to the hardware store or parts store to make sure you get the proper fittings. Easy install.

Super easy shouldn't take more then 20 mins.. I wouldnt worry about the getting a tee and running the stock gauge they are extremely crappy (in my 87 anyway)... the gauges i bought came with everything i needed..

This is where the water temp sensor goes

when your running the line make sure there are no kinks in it because it will break or not read properly

I hope this helps Good Luck!

Hey syko, Thanks alot !! Like they say, I picture is worth a thousand words.....

Hey Syko, let me ask you this. I just went to autozone and bought a 3 guage cluster. One is for water temp, one is for oil pressure, one is for volts. Any way you can shoot me pic of where the oil pressure and the volt meter lines go to like you did with the water temp? That would certainly take all the mistakes out of the equation for me.

Thanks syko !!!

Yup always can lend a hand.

For the Oil pressure gauge ur gonna want to look for this guy and take it off, First your gonna want to drain your oil

Its gonna be on the bottom front of the drivers side engine block... this is where the new oil pressure tube is gonna go.. now if u can i would buy a copper tube instead of a plastic tube... there is a less chance of it breaking and getting oil everywhere inside the cab.( ive been to lazy to do that)

This is where the old oil pressure sensor is located. after u take if off find the right fittings Remember to use some thread seal tape!!

I ran my lines threw a square hole in the firewall.. not sure what was there but it worked out great.

The hole came threw under the top of my gas pedal.

From there straight to the gauges

If u bought the same ones as me (i have a feeling u did) i would switch the crappy bulbs with LEDs or they will light up like on the on the left.

Hope this helps u out. post some pics when ur finished

Thanks
Syko
