It's my sunroof, it's got this black stuff on the inside of it, kinda looks like honeycomb. Can I tint over this without making it look like crap? I've got 5- 100W lights behind the cab and they shine through it quite a bit while in use and I figured it's be great if I could tint it to about a 2.5 or so

if you can feel the texture of the design then its probably not gonna come out too well. you may be better off trying to get the texture off somehow

take it off with a razor blade, the tint won't cover it well at all.

The lights will still shine through it. why not just get a cover for it.

Dot Matrix sucks to tint over. It can be done and it won't adhere to the tiny spots of clear window. I know for a fact that it won't scrap off without scratching the hell out of the window.

I've tried to tint over those dots before, and it turned out terribly... the area around the dots had air bubbles because I couldn't get the trapped air out.

You could try a spray on window tint. I've never used it, but the 1 truck I saw it on... it look like crap.

i was also thinking about getting some black vinyl and putting it on the outside of the glass, I'd rather not paint the glass and I'd rather not scrape the stuff off. What do you guys think of vinyl over the outside?

grinder, torch, roof panel, done. Solid roof installed

And you can ride in my uncarpeted, uninsulated, non-air conditioned truck with even fewer windows when it's 90 degrees out, I need all the ventilation I can get and I installed this to help with ventilation and it made a hell of a difference. I know I could pull it and weld it up but, frankly I don't want to. I installed 5, 100 watt lights up there last week, doubling the light output I had up there, it wasn't a problem before, but now it is. I don't run down the road with them on, but it lights up the inside of the cab like a bright dome light when they're on.

alright, fair enough, try replacing the window with one that doesnt have the crap in/on it, and then tint that. Or get one thats arleady tinted.
