How do I test drive a new truck?

I went out to get Lunch today, on the way I took a stop at the local Ford dealer, Felt like test driving a new Ranger. I talked to the salesman about a new Ranger, told him about my "new job" and how I need a new truck and asked about a test drive. He took one look at me told me we need to fill out a Credit app first. And thats about as far as I got with that

Any Ideas on what to say to these ppl to get a test drive???

Credit app for a test drive? Bulldink.

"Hi. I'm interested in a new Ranger. I'd like to drive this one."

Find another dealer. And shut up about the 'new job.'

i agree with him . i have had a salesperson ride along but never had them want a credit app.

credit apps are just another way for dealers to get your information so they can contact you and get you in on an appointment o buy.

Yeah that's a bunch of bull. Hell, one salesman I talked to ran inside, tossed me the keys and said "Have fun!". I did.

Also, just walk in and ask to test drive a ranger, thats about it, when I turn 18 I want to do that with the 2011, while they still have the new rangers =)
