Ok so I have the clutch out, and my clutch kit came with a replacement release bearing.
I am wondering how to separate the slave cylinder?

There are no instruction anywhere!!!

Please help..

Mad, someone could help better if you can also identify what engine size/year..Any info helps! Remember, not all parts are created equal...

should slide right off the slave cyl....there's nothing really forcing it to be held on. BUT...you should be replacing the slave and all slaves I've gotten for my truck(all 5) have the throwout bearing already there, brand new.

+1 Replace the slave as wannabe says or down the road you will be sorry like I was trying to save a few bucks.:bawling::bawling:

Actually you need to place the cylinder on a workbench bearing UP
compress the cylinder slightly by pushing down on the release bearing

At the center there should be a small spiroloc retaining ring that you will need to remove

at that point the bearing may or may not "simply pop off", because
there are also two "barbs" on theback side of the plastic shell.

Look for the lengthwise grooves in the body of the cylinder, then squeeze the plastic body 90degrees to where those grooves are (the barbs ride in the grooves)

I was talking about the bearing itself, not the black or blue plastic 'housing' that the bearing 'mounts' to.

OP...does your slave have a bare spring and nothing ontop?

got it apart. turns out that stop on the end is like a keychain ring.
