Today when I got to work my truck took a DUMP of coolant on the parking lot.

About a year ago I installed a coolant tank type heater, and well the stupid thing over pressured my cooling system and was forcing coolant out the cap and out the thermostat gasket!!:annoyed:

So I removed that POS, roasted the heater in fire, and installed Bar's Leak sealant(the clear bottle) the sealant worked for about a year, then I got a bright Ideal to replace the thermostat gasket, after all I was getting all this goo buildup from the leak stop.

So I bought a "stick on" thermostat gasket from NAPA, installed it and for good measure I put in some Bar's leak stop(the type with all the little copper slivers) and it did JACK SHIT.

It was like loosing 1/2 gallon every 100 miles, even added the rest of the bottle, but NO, it simply did not work.

So I am like, "alright, it might be the water pump gasket", so I simply replaced with new gaskets on the water pump and thermostat housing.

Made sure everything was clean, smooth all the old gasket was gone, and Installed Fel-Pro gaskets from Autozone(they seemed thicker) maxed the torque on the housing bolts(max spec is 21 ft-lbs) ran the truck for 15 minutes and topped off the coolant, and GUESS WHAT, coolant was SEEPING OUT at the top of the gasket, I was like WTF!!

So I just installed some Bars leak(heavy duty stop leak) and I am basically back where I started.

So now what? I can't find new thermostat housings, can I double gasket?
