hey guys
so i went wheeling in the mud and water twice and both times i blew a alternator.what do i have to do to make sure this doesn happen again?
thanks
ryan

dont fly thru water, and if possible get an e-fan that you can shut off when doing deep water crossings because your stock fan is like a boat prop in the water.

thats what i need when the tires lose their grip to keep me going!:icon_thumby:

"Hey Doc, it hurts when I do this."

"Then stop doing it."
.
hahaha ..yeah i know.but its a addiction and i cant stop lol..i like that electric fan idea..in fact i have one sitting in the garage.hmmmm..

i also like the splash guard idea..hmm again lol

I said this in another topic on here but I had a friend with a jeep and he lost his alternator, power steering pump and A/C go up on the same day bec of mud and dirt getting into them.

Just don't go plowing through deep water. Chances are if you're blowing your alternator out then you're taking a big chance of hydrolocking your motor as well. That's a whole lot more expensive than replacing the alternator.

did your mom never teach not to play in water (lol) slow down in water, change over to an electric fan, of change your altenator to a marine one. (sealed unit) or try and find a set of water wings for your truck (lol)
