This is what I used for instruction with my first swap. I used the listed motor mounts and oil filter relocation kit. Total Performance doesn't make swap kits or parts anymore.
In the interest of being fair and balanced (and lazy) I left the chevy stuff. Scanned form the magazine I still have. Sorry for the somewhat questionable quality.

That's awesome!

Look at the first Ford pic, tri-Ys and Fox Mustang (coupe) mounts. Same thing we still do! Look at the slave, '83/'84 Ranger, same slave I used! Mine is a diesel, bolts on rather than clip, but still the same thing they did 25 years ago.

That's the same set up I used back in 88 when I did my 1st swap.
At the time I drove to their shop they had a 1987 or 88 ranger with a built
460. Still had the dealer sticker on the window.

Also the guy took me for a ride in a customers truck they had just put a 351w in.
 
I am curious however that they used the stock radiator. I am not satisfied that it would keep a V-8 cool in traffic. If anybody has used one and it does work well, let me know. I have a 4 cyl w/air radiator our of an 83. I think I still have it anyway....
 
Depending on how built the v8 is it may or may not work.. mine, a fairly stock 302 uses a stock explorer radiator (single core)
 
There was another good write up on the first swap some Ford engineers did back in '87'. Seems like all I saved was the parts list they used for the build. See they used a proto-type 8.8 rear end also. Think it's up in the tech library "somewhere"

I'm using the stock rad- Truck was originally a 1997 4.0 manual trans.
Been going three years now with no cooling issues.
 
I noticed in that list, they did a couple things they didn't have to do, such as the Econoline master cylinder for the clutch and somehow having to remove the crossmember to modify it. And replacing the front swaybar with a Bronco II unit.

Didn't notice the sway bar or cross member. I did look up the Econline master at RockAuto before I posted just to see. It's listed as one with a 7/8" bore. Might be the reason but again, listed wrong or is it a true 7/8" bore.

Could also be that the 7/8 bore Ranger master cylinder wasn't out yet ?
