Hot distrubitor cap

Maybe it's just for show....this is a mysterious post.

I like to burn things

I don't like when farts burn.

What engine was this on?

It's posted in the Bronco II forum, but it's engine related and on the rail of a pickup bed. You have a V8 in your signature, but it's a 6 cylinder cap.
My friend bronco 'll 2.9

Oh it was a 2.9. that's perfectly normal than. They randomly catch fire all the time.

20KV?

My guess is that coil was working overtime and going all out closer to 50KV to do that damage.
Not sure about the voltage, but had be a dead short (or dang near it) to draw enough current to do that.
Surprised that the coil (or the circuit feeding the primary winding) hung in there that long.
