What are areas to investigate if Im having issues starting up on a hot day (85+)

For the past two days this has occurred and I am able to get it started after 15 minutes or so with the hood open and randomly prodding things. Each time i've sprayed some MAF sensor cleaner but I believe its more of a habit than a cure.

Im not sure if the fuel pump is bad, it was replaced with a new one around 1600 miles ago, but I don't recall hearing it prime the past few times, yet I am able to get her started. Im about to take it to a mechanic/dealer ship and just hate the pirating of my pockets... or anyone know some mechanics in the 20706 zip code area ? (Lanham, MD)

any check engine light? im having a similar problem with my 95 blazer. but my o2 sensors are shot.

Yes, I have a code P1443; which is a evaporative emissions control system control valve.

Im fairly certain that wouldnt have much to do with it however.

On a hunch here:
How do you test the ground of the sending unit? What is needed and what are the steps?

My fuel gauge hasnt worked in a bit and im wondering if there is some connection loose or off. Does it require dropping the tank or removing the bed?
