I have a 2004 Ranger 4 x 4 4 l , 6 cly

I just noticed a rubbber hose(looks like vac hose) hanging disconnected from the left side of the rear axle. I cannot find where is plugs into?? What is it and where does it connect. Truck still runs well???
Thanks,
chief

That would most likely be the VENT hose from the rearend. If not connected rain water will enter the rearend. Creek water will for sure. My FX4 has that hose from the front end coming up as high as the battery under the hood..
