Horrible mileage.

People here will do what they can to help you but in order for us to help, we need to know certain things. First thing is to find the actual mileage you are getting so you can tell just how horrible it is. A big part of it will probably be your increase tire size throwing off the speedo. Other than that though, do you know if its had any tune up recently? First thing I would do since you just bought the truck is replace the plugs, wires, air and fuel filter etc. If they are old they could be bringing your mileage down as well
Thank you finally someones who's not rude, I looked into it and from 2001 to present supposedly it doesn't matter because the computer auto adjusts or something? I think it may also measure off the axle not the wheel.

Yeah your truck is too new to have a speedo gear. You can buy tuners to recalibrate the speedometer, but yeah the differnce in tire size isn't huge but will throw it off maybe a couple of mpg.

Yes some people can be rude on this site but we can't help you if we don't know every aspect about your truck. the more you tell us, the easier it will be to diagnose the problem.

I just bought this truck not long ago, before this I owned a Volkswagen Jetta....I didn't ever have to worry about this crap so thats why I never learned any of it lol.

Hey Domestic where in Canada are you from? There are guys from here all over if you need a hand wih stuff on your truck or need help finding parts or anything else everyone here are more than willing to help you out. I haven't posted too much just been more of a lurker but been looking at alot of the rigs here and reading the tech library and its worth being on this site.

How many km's are on the truck? Maybe clean you MAF as well I had the airraid intake on mine and took it off as it was plugging my MAF up all the time with the oil

LOL Its pretty easy Unhook you negative cable from the battery look on your airtube just to the right of your airbox and it should be on the firewall side of your tube. Use a torx screwdriver and pull the MAF out and unhook the electrical connector ge your self some MAF cleaner and spray it down real good let dry and replace. Some other guys may have another way they do it but that is how I do mine. As per my Mechanic buddy.

Being as it has that many KM's and it being used If it were my rig new plugs, wires, fuel filter and clean the air filter.

Don't forget to look in the tech library, it has most of the answers you seek.

There is a writeup on how to clean the maf. And I didn't realize it was a newer truck with a vss, so you will have to get a programmer to correct your kph.

As for the tuneup, I always try to do a full tuneup when I get any used vehicle. You never know how the last person treated it so at least I get some peace of mind knowing that one less thing is likely to go wrong.
