Horn Blows at midnight

I would take it back to the dealer.

^ Totally agree with Jspafford. However, I'm curious as to what's causing it. Let us know, if you find out anything from the dealer.

Yea, I'm taking it in the morning, but, was wondering why at night only!!! I looked on another forum and several with F250-350 had horns blowing, but, didn't say why. I'll tell ya'll what the Dealer tells me.

Because it is colder at night metal shrinks and sometimes it can be enough to cause contacts to close or a ground to ground.

if you wanna know why ask the kids a couple houses down laughing histerically at you in the bushes. They might know something about it :D

If you have a remote, someone else has the same code and is screwing with you. I had a couple of neighbors that did that with their TV's , same remote, one would just change the channel or turn the set on & off for the other. Greg

It's also the time critters seek a warm engine block, or at least shelter from wind/cold.

I remember once, I had a racoon who would always turn my lights on when I wasn't looking!

:icon_rofl:

Update

The dealer said it was the

" Smart Function Box".

One is on order now and I pulled the fuse back out till it arrives.
I did think it was the kids as I had 2 tires lose air last month, no holes found and no more air lost.
But, it started blowing real often with me in it. When the mechanic put the fuse back in, it started howling.

Sounds like the dealer may be right about the Smart (?!) Function Box. Kids messing with you wouldn't explain the honking while driving it part. Thanks for letting us know what they said, and good luck.

Mickey Mouse Update

Well, the dealer ordered the Smart Function Box
( computer)! I went in at 7am, and went to p/u my truck at 4pm. They had to delete and restore the whole computer system to make all things compatible. When they brought the truck around, the horn was just a blaring!! So they gave me a rental car and I asked them to please check the clockspring and wiring harness being too tight.
Tomorrow is a new day, maybe I'll get my truck back then.

Bummer! I guess the good thing, is that the problem was obvious before you left the dealership. It would have been worse had you taken the truck and then have the horn go crazy later. And, good idea; I hope they do check the clock spring and any other areas that may be related.

truck needs rosary or priest.j/k,that would aggravate the hell out of me.good luck.
