i got a cheap mr gasket inline fuel pump that i would like to connect to the factory in tank pump that no longer works. i was going to mount it inside the frame rail close to the gas tank and was going to use rubber fuel lines since i dont think i could get the factory hard lines to work. my question is

will i run into any problems connecting it to the factory pump?

and should i just cap off the factory return line.

heres the pump im using http://www.mr-gasket.com/ProductDet...jID=225&minID=2255&selection=6&minselection=1

thanks for any help

this truck is a carbed 5.8

or should i just run a mechanical pump ?? looking for reliability and simplicity.

i used a mechanical pump and an electric like the one you are talking about on mine, and had no problems. it should draw thru the intank pump like mine did.

thanks for the info. i think ill save money and just use the electric pump then. did you do anything to the intank pump?

nope... i just removed the stock lines from the pickup, slid on some regular fuel hose and took off!
