im wondering what year ranger i can get a raised hood off of that will bolt right over to my 94 ford ranger

www.car-part.com lists from 93 - 97 for your ranger ( compatibility ) so I'd assume they're direct bolt on. Dont know if they're raised or not tho...

You mean like the 01+ power dome hoods? if so you need to swap the frontend to atleast a 98+ ranger for that to work. it may fit on your ranger but its not going to match up. check out lund or LMC and see if they have any hood scoops that fit what you want then take it to someone and have them put it on... or do it yourself if your good at fiberglass?

I think you will need matching grill also; but newer (post98) trucks have different mounts, so you will need to customize:icon_welder:

just to add to this question...

If I find a front clip from a '98 or later, stick it on my '95, then a Power Dome hood should work? just making sure before I spend cash.

you can do that for sure. the only problem is ford changed the radiator core support in 98 and is completely different from the 93 to 97 ranger. so to swap a 98+ front clip you will need the obvious fenders, hood, grill, light housings, and misc bumper pieces. but you must swap out your factory core support for a 98+ ranger support. i havent met anyone who has managed to use the 93-97 support with the newer body panels and hood from a 98+ ranger. it might be possible though.

98 and newer has different frame at front half of truck. You will need to modify the rad support mounting to make it work.:icon_welder:

LMC has a 2" rise cowl induction steel hood 93-97 p/n# 50-9914-T sells for $349.95 + $125 for truck freight shipping.

LMCtruck.com or call 1-800-LMC-TRUCK

I will compare try to compare the difference between the rad core supports on my 94 & co workers 98

Good post! that is probably the way to go. Same price as a used front clip plus without all the agravation of making things fit, unless, of course, that is what you like about working on your truck...:yahoo:

I compared the rad suppport between my 94 & co workers 98 & they are in fact different ,but I beleive that they dont need to be changed. I thing that the 93-97 core support can be adapted to work ,by either brackets relocated & holes made bigger in area's
