Holy Tire, Batman!


I would suspect the reason for not servicing 2 holes close together is that they may share the same cords in the belt.
or if the damaged cords are adjacent.
 
Ive done two plugs in one bigass hole from a shrapnel chunk. It held!
 
I've had as many as four tubeless tire repair plugs in one tire before. I've had two on a motorcycle tire in the past. I don't lose any sleep over them. Damn dry wall screws seem to be the big culprit around these parts.

I live less than 2 miles from the county landfill. Stuff is always falling out if trucks and trailers on the way there. Especially bad at the traffic light between me and the landfill.

Me too; I have a "convenience center" type trash dump close to me.

A few years ago I'm going to work one night in the old Ranger; hit a big "debris field" in the curve where the road to the dump turns off. Lumber, drywall, crap in general, and I couldn't dodge it all. "Damn!".

A couple of hundred yards more, I start feeling and hearing a flat tire. "Damn!".

I pull off the road where I can check, and change the tire. Driver rear is flat, and I find a fair-size hole in the tread, with just a little piece of soft rubbery YELLOW plastic poking out. Tried, couldn't pull it out, and then I go for the spare. It's too low to run; "Damn!".

It's Christmas Eve, almost 10:00PM. If I don't clock in at 10:30PM, it'll be a hassle dealing with the boss so that my holiday pay isn't dinked. Soooo . . . I'm only a mile from the house, and another truck. The tire is trashed anyway, and the truck is about due for a new set anyway so I drive home at 15-20 MPH. Of course, the flat tire is now shredded and smoking, and well and truly trashed. Jumped in the other truck, fired that mother up, drove it to work like I just stole it, and clocked in with only seconds to spare.

A few days later I pump up the low spare, put it on the truck and drive it to the tire shop for new set. I pull the mangled tire out of the bed, and ask the guy to let me know what they find out about what the offending mysterious yellow thing is, when they break that wheel down.

A few minutes later the tire guy, grinning, hands me a yellow plastic handle with "CRAFTSMAN" in black letters on it. I had hit some kind of pliers tool, that pierced the tire bigly and then got spit out, leaving the handle pad. "DAYUM!".

I went back and looked, but to my bitter disappointment I never did find the tool itself.
