I just bought an 84 Ranger 4x4 and its carbed is this somethin that is stock or no it has a v6 but im not if it a 2.8 or 2.9 but it sureeeeeee does tick like a bitch.

its a 2.8, and adjusting the valves may stop the ticking

probably just rocker arm adjustment depending does it have the emission stuff still in it if stock it is a 2.8l and probably needs valveguide seals good idea to change the seals while you have the covers off there is info in the tech library under 2.8l on how to change the seals and adjust the lifters also the duraspark conversion is highly suggested if you dont need to pass emissions
