iv been on trs for quite a while now and i have yet to see anybody do something crazy with a ford escape... i wonder how one would look with about 10" of lift sittin on 38's hmmm

looks nicer on an escort, but it would be interesting o_0

well the reason for the pondering... im pretty sure my moms 05 took a crap this evning... she said it started knocking on her way home so i took it for a spin a while ago, she wasnt kidding.. i belive the oil pump gave out... im pretty sure its either a lifter or a valve, gonna tear in a bit deeper tomora but i gotta feelin its trash

It would look interesting, borderline stupid lol... and would probably roll over like an egg...

well theres really nothing like that available for them, so anything would have to be completely custom:icon_welder: Since its only been around since '01 or so, itll cost you some money upfront just to get one. You cant just buy one for a few bucks to mess around with. Im sure one of these days someone will do it, but it will be someone who has the money to throw around

huh, my moms got an 05 escape too... wat motor is urs? and yea, lifting an escape just sounds wierd/dangerous/stupid

I'd do leafs and 3/4 tons all the way around. Maybe run a 38" shoe. Hack the hell out of the body to fit the tires and only give it around 6" of up travel.

When my mom is too old to need a car I'm building custom arms and coil over hoops for her subby wagon. Gonna trophy truck the hell out of that little boxer motor.

I think it would be easier to just lift the body off and put it on a bigger better frame

Stick it on a shortbox regular cab chevy frame!

Chevy? Ewwwww. Keep it ford! Are you looking to make it street legal or for a mud truck? Mud truck I'd so go big or go home, chop up an old f350 frame fab it to fit under the escape body and maybe (being conservative) some 44 tsl's bolted onto a couple dana 60's. That would be a killer mud truck. You would probably have to keep it low on the motor though, I don't think a 460 would fit in the escape engine bay lol. Maybe a built 351 for some power "when in doubt bore it out". That would be a little much but you would destroy at bogs haha.

Step one - remove IFS/IRS
Step two - Plate unibody for increased rigidity and stable link mounts
Step three - Roll choice axles under vehicle with choice of rolling stock
Step four - Fabricate link's, trac bars, steering etc etc etc....

After driving an 08' Escape for a lil while I wouldn't mind wheeling one.....but theres a lot of electronics to mess with, and a lot to go wrong...
