HMMM Ranger knowledge quiz??

i still think this needs to be explored as a possibility, becuase makg cant do it all by himself, and i know ive seen bobby walter on here alot more recently too, but the other tech advisors still are only on every once in a blue moon,

like just from what ive seen, makg knows his shit one ALOT of stuff, and he keeps out of the areas he doesnt know for the most part. and bobby walkter knows a more on the areas makg doesnt, but i still think theres some gray area on here where people should know if the person actually knows what there talkin about in the field in question

You guys can always recommend someone for a RBV Tech Advisor title.

The whole point is to show that TRS acknowledges them as being very reliable in the info they provide others.

These appointments need to come from you guys. If someone suggests someone, I announce it to staff for review and consideration.

alright, idk how hard it would be for u todo, but u can nominate different tech people for different sections of the site. i think that would work that way we have specialists so to speak with tech support badges, and udner there name it says where they support

good idea, sucks for me though, i dont know much about trannys, i know about electrical and engine mainly, and basically everything but tranny

So those of us that can't pass will get a "Dumb-ass" badge, low score "JoAT-MoN" (Jack of All Trades-Master of None), and a high score is "WOW-I Listened ALOT"?

I don't think there are many tech advisors that know everything about all the categories. We ALL have niches.

Myself, I'm quite weak on interior, body work, and audio/video, so you won't find me posting much advice in those forums.

i think the idea is great.and i do like the idea about spliting the tests in to groups. same idea as asking the right questions on the right posts. should apply to giving someone info and not just geting a low score if you dont know all the stuff. some people are only intrested in one vintage.

Should we be able to choose if we want our score shown or not?

I think the only problem with that is that someone could take the test and use google to come up with some of the answers, so each question would have to be researched first to see if the answer can be found easily. I may or may not pass such a test because alot of my RBV knowledge came from "junkyard experimentation". Alot of people answering questions for others could even be simply just using a search engine to find the info which may be inaccurate, but in a way they're doing something that someone else should have thought to do in the first place. I do know of one person on this forum who I have met in person and can say that he would know the answer to every single RBV question that you throw at him, but i'm not going to say his name because I don't want to subject him to a higher-than-usual volume of questions.

I'm the new guy, Hi everyone. Some tests can institute a time limit. 1 minute per question is a possibility, If someone knows their stuff then they will have no problem. The ones who have to research shouldnt be even taking the test, they should be posting and asking questions like everyone else.

Im a newb 100% to the site and to ranger, but I know mechanics and Im an avid mustanger. I have had 3 fox bodies with the same 2.3 as my ranger. So I have knowledge just not to rangers in particular. While i might offer an answer myself having a knowledge rating would really help others know whether or not to trust my advice. I like the idea of posting pass/fail results. If your worried about being embarrassed by a failing score then you never should have taken a public knowledge test. So far I like the site, this is the first of 25 sites that I've frequented over the last 3 yrs that even considered something like this.

Is there someone here that can explain to me how to upload a SWF file here? I can make a multiple question,true\false or fill in the blank test, but don't know how to place the .swf files here.
