hmm boggin got to drive today

yea thanks guy,
and yea it was only 2 little towns that were close together and there are very VERY few people that dont know my grandfather,
I just thought it was cool cause he let me drive his new truck, if it was his old one i probably wouldnt have posted, well, i may have , but oh well, and yea i was only doing the speed limit, used my signal light out of my driveway and in his, and at all the turns, and even though it was tempting, i didnt ball the tires :D

this is why i put Boggin in the title, if you just dont like me, you dont have to open the thread
thanks

Um, nothing in my responce said anything about not liking you. I just stated a serious concequence of your action, and that a child has no place driving a car. I have a ton of respect for you and your wanting to learn and put your truck together, but keep it off the road. As much as you think you know, you do not know anything yet. Its all coming to you though. Just give it time. Until then be safe.

I have drove since I was 14.. when I was 14, I was a better driver than my mother..

I say this all the time, Age is neither a measure of Maturity or Experience. It depends on the person, not their age.

All you people freakin out about this.... are you gonna tell me you didn't do anything like this when you were young? (I have) If not, then, are you gonna tell me you didn't even want to? honestly.

I didn't on public streets, and from a liability standpoint I don't think that is a great idea, but I had done hundreds of laps around my dad's shop in his '81 Chevy pickup while I sat in his lap and ran the steering wheel and he ran the pedals... eventually I graduated to driving the truck with my little brother riding shotgun while dad threw hay bales on the trailer behind it. All of my learning was on private property until I got my learners permit.

I had driven tractors on the street I guess, but you don't even need a license for that, and I wasn't going far (less than half a mile) They were not that big either (830 Case with a pull behind box scrapper was the biggest rig)

Oh.. and did I mention that the legal age to drive in many states actually IS 14 years old? That's only a year off from boggin. No clue as to the legal driving age where Boggin lives though. But think about how many 14 year olds are legally driving the streets of the states.

yea thanks and also should i mention that he also let me drive this on the same road for the same distance last year?

Caterpillar 950E,

i only drove that at the main terminal parking lot and backed in to a trailer..though he guided me back, im not that skilled yet..
wow..after typing all that i think i want to scrap the idea of doing heavy equipment on a site and be a long haul trucker, than i could tow the ranger to a TRS anniversary and be getting payed at the same time for working :D:yahoo:..all i have to do is squeeze the ranger in/on a trailer with some goods..:)

edit-----------------
that first blue western star is only one like his, not the actual one, he only wanted me to drive half the way cause he didnt want me to go in town cause i would probably kill everybody with a load like that..

there was a time when bruce b downs was undeveloped?

haha

i drove a few time before i got my license.. always with parents though and on the backroads

Yeah, there was Pebble creek Subdivision being built, there was a old Indian store at the south end (now a BP) and a Conveinent food mart at the north end, nothing else, everything you seen now or just in the last 2 decades, was not there. I hit a deer on that road, highway trooper came out, called the wildlife mangement out, he gave me a piece of paper for the deer and I took that deer home and quartered it. I grew up (for a while) in Wesley Chapel, off of Boyette Road.

They also have to pass a test...

Y'all seem to have a thing for black and orange.

well black and orange was dads company colour, but now the colours are on the ranger in memory of my dads truckin days which i miss so much, i want to get his company sticker and put on the ranger:

this symbol on the trailer that says Day & Ross, one on the door of the ranger would be nice :3gears: lol..

BTW will TRS have a 20 year anniversary?

they have an online test somewhere, i scored like 80 or something, anybody can take it, its pretty cool

Whoo hoo. A written test to get a learners permit.

So then what? There are 50 year old people that can not drive and couldn't pass the test either.
