OK, so I hit some water on my way home from work in my truck and right after this happened it started making this loud clanking noise like something was stuck in the fan and it has no power now. I looked under the hood in the motor is shaking pretty bad and the noise is coming from what seems like the rear of the motor. Its a 96 b3000 with a 3.0 v6. I hope this is something simple. The clanking noise goes away when I am accel but comes right back when I take off the gas.

has oil, guages look fine, did have a cel but it when away when I shut off the truck.

Just a guess, but maybe a cam synchro? How much water did you go through? You didn't dent your oil pan somehow, did you?

well there was a little water in the intake so i am guessing i may have a bent valve now. i am going to skip work tomorrow to poke around.

Just ran a compression test and I am pretty positive I lost a valve. All but one cylinder have perfect compression. Guess its time to look for a new car.

where are you located??? and how much would you want for your current truck??
Beef

Kansas City, and with its wheels, tires, bed cover and such I would say like 1000obo. Not really sure.
