hit curb grinding noise

i hit a curb to avoid some idiot drifting and i hit the curb at least going thrity miles an hour.
now there is this horrible grinding screach noise coming from that wheel. but the noise only comes up when you go like above probable thirty five ish?????

whats wrong with my truck

one good out come of the night was a kick ass hill climb my buddies chevy cant even do in 4x4 haha what a slap in the face>

You probably bent an arm, messed up the wheel, damaged the tire, probably ball joints. Curbs do a lot of damage.

+1 i didnt even think of bent beam or ball joints. also check your knuckles and tie-rods

Bearing are fractured, if you don't fix, it will literally fall apart.

I hit a curb with my truck, busted the radius arm bushings, didn't think about the bearings and one day POP, GRIND GRIND, the remnants of the bearing was wearing grooves in my spindle.

Definitely check wheel bearings before proceeding to more expensive things.

I am betting on wheel bearings and dented/scored races. If you find a bad bearing or bits of a bearing replace the races as well as the bearings.

Um, greasy? lol.....that's what latex gloves are for. Peel em' off when you're done.....no mess.

I agree though. Not that hard to check bearings, or replace for that matter.

if there is bearing damage, there will probably be damage to the race cups.

That would require either; 1. new rotors with races pre pressed or 2. take off the rotors and press them out yourself/let shop do it.

Other than the bearing races, all else is just as easy as an oil change.

Race cups are supposed to be a "matched pair" with the bearings.

AAA coverage so that when the wheel shits you can get towed easily. Or inspect it now and have peace of mind.
