High Mileage Rangers

i thought 148k was alot for my 2.9 w/replaced heads. and is it possible for a stock clutch to go 148k?

See my post above 1990 Ranger - 297,xxx only thing replaced was timing and accessory belt... It still had the original clutch when we sold it... If you know how to drive a stick properly the clutch should last the life of the truck...

170K...:icon_thumby: I put 225K on my 94 XLT 4x4.

my old 89 ranger 2.9, 5 speed, 4x4 had 349K on it when it started knocking and blew 4th gear out

mine has the most with no problems just replaced the water pump and thermostat and thats about it and it the 4.0l and there the ones with the head problem i think that it been pretty good to me

my 99 4.0 4x4 5spd has 193,356. prob turn 200k in bout 2 months. she runs like she did when i bought her. still has factory clutch. motor leaks a little oil, but doesnt burn any. i will probably never buy anything but a ford ever again.

I think I have one of the newest trucks in this thread, mines an 04 with 187k miles, it used to be a nebraska highway department truck, I bought it earlier this year with 185k on it

97 Ranger 2.3, 5-spd, 2whl drive. I have ~196K on it, and it was running on the original clutch until about 10k miles ago. When I crack the 200k mark I'll make sure to take a picture and post it up!

EDIT:

I broke 200k a while ago... As of today (8/22/2010) I just rolled over 208k mi. I lost the original timing belt just before it hit 208k... not to bad for a 60k mile component.

Had a 95 explorer 4.0, had 250,000 when I sold it, ran perfect.

Only ever replaced the front driveshaft DC joint, and the water pump.

It ticked like a son of a though. :D

Metallic purple '94 XLT here, just about to turn 210k. I call it the Grape Ape.

Most of those miles were logged in the midwest-- the mechanics I've dealt with in Arizona, California and Oregon like to whine about the rust.

Lost the clutch master cylinder at 190k or so and had all that stuff replaced (had been leaking for years)-- then lost the transmission six months later at 193k, in the middle of a cross-country move. Was stuck in N. Caliornia in a town so small that I couldn't even junk my truck and rent a u-haul. So I ate the cost of replacement and it's been nothing but reliable since.

The clear coat's shot from being parked outside in AZ for a couple years, and it now has the steel rims from an '84 Ranger rather than the factory mags (got a deal on used tires already mounted). The windshield's cracked and it's picked up a couple of off dents from parking lot jerks that never fessed up. Slow leaks of just about every fluid, but I only log ~5k a year, so it's not hard to keep up.

i cant show you how meny miles because in florida when its over 225k on the title its exempt

and im only a 6 digit but it had 320k be for i cooked it " cracked heads over heated water trashed my runners its dead =( bigger motor >:)
