high k sohc good for engine swap?

i am lookin at an explorer with the sohc its got 377ks on it but it seems to run very strong i want the motor for my ranger its 600 bucks for the whole truck just passed e test like a month or two ago my only concern is will i get anymore ks from the motor and is it worth it the one thing that kinda has me curious is the top rad hose is hard while its running but it blows no oil when starting and its sat for a couple weeks and blows no white smoke.
