I've got a 2000 4.0 4wd,right after start up it contiues to idle high for a couple of seconds.Any suggestions!!

Got my high idle problem fixed today, it was the Idle Control Valve sticking, it is right behind the TPS on the the throttle body.

my truck does this as well.

can you tell me what TPS means? and is it a matter of cleaning the idle control valve, or replacing it. i havent take apart a throttle body before.

TPS is the throttle position sensor. The idle air control is right behind it. You can test that by just unplugging it while the engine is running at idle. if the engine bogs down then the idle air control is good and your problem is probably elsewhere.
