Hey guys! I was fiddling around with my truck the other day. I replaced the Dist Cap and Rotor. and Spark Plug Wires. It was running insanely High before I replaced the parts. I'd say about 1800RPM. Now its between 1200-1500. Tomarrow I'm changing the spark plugs btw.

I'm hoping it helps a bunch before I have to go spend money I really don't have. I'm chasing this gremlin and I'm hoping you guys could point me in the right direction.

I don't have a CEL. I even checked the bulb in case it was burnt out.. Also, when it's warmed up, it blows white smoke and smell Rich. Like a Top Fuel Dragster. I just did an' oil change and the top-end has been rebuilt. *Before I had it*. Could it be just a bad IAC or needs a simple cleaning?

Also, when its in Park, or Nuetral, it Idles at 1200-1500. But if its in Drive, its closer to 1000. The previous owner, who died, her son said the mechanic that did the top end started throwing new sensors on it but the way the engine looks, I doubt it. Since its all caked up with grease and dirt and grime.

Change the PCV and replace any hard or cracked vacuum lines and make sure everything is where it is supposed to be, Somtimes a vacuum leak will make it idle high. Disconnect the battery neg terminal for at least half an hour then see how it runs. Eliminate the variables the PCV is cheap and the most neglected part of preventive maint, change it with spark plugs they cannot be cleaned.

mine runs at 1900rpms when its cold until it starts to warm up, then it idles at 900 like it should...kinda annoying but not hurting anything

That's pretty normal. The engine coolant sensor controls the IAC through the EEC. It will idle high until the engine warms up enough. The colder it is the longer it takes to idle down.
