My truck is in decent shape for 260K miles, but it needs new brake pads and seatbelts. If I don't show up for a while then maybe I didn't get them soon enough.

Welcome if your doing brakes new rotors are recommended and seat belts are a bone yard item if you can find some good ones. At the least have your rotors turned or you will be looking for pads again soon.

I knew I'd have to do something with the rotors when I heard them grinding, but one is past turning and can only be replaced. The places that machine rotors are closed today, but I assume it would cost $20. For an extra $20 I might as well buy new and get a pair, for a total of $160-210, depending on the grade of pads.

Hope you get them soon...but, always remember, a Ranger has a front bumper for a reason...just don't try using it as an emergency brake if you're going too fast...tie a rope around a rock and toss it out the window if you're going over 50...oh, and tie it to the truck near the back somewhere so that it acts as an anchor...

Welcome also...you can start your own introduction if you like, and view/post in any appropriate forum...hope you find info that you need...
