I have a 93 Ranger 5.0 i built in 2001..so old it has Kaufman swap stuff in it. Its time for a complete rebuild of it, trans, engine, paint, interior. it has logged about 175k miles and used up 3 AODE's. 4 T5's, 3 clutchs, and 4 sets of Nitto Drag radials. Presently the truck has a 92 Gt block +30 Speedpro forged pistons,GT40 heads lightly ported, Explorer Intake, 19lb inj. TrickFlow stg I cam, scorpion roller rockers, stock and restrictive GT 5.0 MAS. T5, Centerforce clutch, 8.8 tracloc 3.55. Fiberglass cowl induction hood and roll pan no bumper, weighs 3050lbs and has run 13.49 @101. I am thinking about ditching the EFI in favor of a carb and fuel cell setup. I hacked the stock harness up and wove in a 95 gt engine harness. I dont have any smog equiptment EGR or Cats and to get around smog testing i buy my inspection stickers. It has always idled rough and noticeably rich at idle..i have my ox sensors in the collectors (I know its too far away). If i keep the EFI I would like to start over and use a Painless harness, which will be pretty expensive after adding new distributor, PCM, different sensors and welding bungs in the headers for Ox sensors. and upgrading the MAS and maybe 24lb inj. What do you guys think? I dont drive it daily like i used to so gas mileage isnt that important. Either way is going to cost me $2000+
