Hello.

I'm Laurence, and I need a ranger. :bye:

Don't know what else to say really. I live in Alberta.

I'm a journeyman machinist. I like to make stuff. I don't have any welding skills. But I can program CNC's.

I'm shopping for a 2005 to 2007 Ranger. Mostly because that's the newest I can afford. I was hoping someone has some tips when checking those years out. What to look for specifically.

I want a supercab, transmission doesn't matter, but the 5 speed would probably be more enjoyable.

I don't care for 4x4, I won't go mudding or do much towing.

Think it's possible for me to post up some links for trucks for sale, and you can give me an idea on the price, if it's high or low?

Welcome. Go ahead and post links, a lot of people are willing to help a fellow (future) Ranger driver.

Welcome Laurence~

Good years to choose from, but you might also consider something older...I like the newer body style too, but fell in love with my Gen I Ranger and haven't looked back...forward, maybe, but not too much back...maybe a little back...lol

I would think a 4x4 in Alberta might be more practical, but if you're used to 2wd and you've made it through a few winters you'd probably be OK with it...my last vehicle was 4wd and I think I used it maybe 6 times in as many years...

Honestly I'd go with a 3rd gen(93-97). Its not as new as you would like but they will dramitically drop the price and are far easier to work on and modify(if your going to do that). Welcome to The Station btw.

It's been a couple weeks.

Ive got my daily driver ready to be sold so I can aggressively look for a ranger.

Here's some that I have my eye on.

This one has the reg cab, but I like the red, and I like that it already has a push-bar.

This one I picked out too because it's in my price range. Pictures dont show too much, but I could go take a look at it.

I like that this one has 4 doors. Don't know if I care for the canopy that much, and the grey is kind of drab.

Could someone tell me what they think of the prices? I was thinking of offering about $1000 less and seeing if I could settle on $500 less.

I'm getting pretty amped about this. I've always wanted one, but never pulled the trigger for some reason.
