Steve here, in Central NC. I bought a '97 Ranger XL with 4-banger and 5-speed last Saturday. It's fairly basic inside, with a bench seat and rubber floor. Outside, it's white, has the long bed and a bed liner. Stock alloy 14" rims. It's pretty nondescript, which is where I want to be with it these days (my other ride - '96 Miata - attracts more attention.
So far, I've changed the oil, trans fluid (went to Mercon V) and some hydraulic in the master cylinders (will be doing full bleeds soon).
I'll be installing a ham rig and swapping the am/fm out for one with cassette for now (so I can connect the iPhone through an adaptor).
I've been searching around but still have a few questions that I'll be posting in the appropriate subforums.
I like this truck and it seems to be pretty well screwed-together for something 13 years old with over 160,000 miles on it!
