I need some help,if anybody with this suspension on their ranger could post a pic of the passenger side axle bracket,i bought this guys coil springs and axle brackets to go on my 88 broncoII but i can't figure out how that side mount's.the driver side is a direct bolt on,but the passenger side has brackets that look like it would lower my factory cast bracket down the 2",and with these coils it raised my bronco almost 3".Thanks for your time.

The bracket on the passenger side isn't cast stock, but the driver's side bracket is.

Lets make sure we're on the same page:

The passenger side bracket locates the driver side axle beam. And the drivers side bracket locates the passenger side axle beam.

What brand of brackets are these? I dont recall a company that makes brackets for 2" of lift.

These are just the factory mounts he took off ,when he went to higher lift.I'm reffering to the drivers side bracket that holds the passenger side axle,it almost looks like brackets would lower the cast peice down the 2".Sorry,i going to have to learn to get pictures posted, maybe this weekend. Thanks,Mike

Look something like this? Its probably a plate that drops your stock bracket down

I'm guessing he's talking about the STX highrider brackets.

It's not really 2", it more of a factory leveling kit with brackets to correct camber and caster changes "just enough". So in reality it's a 1.5" kit at best, so it won't look much different then a stock bracket set.

Better yet, what's the ford P/N off that bracket?

sounds like he bought the highrider stx brackets and are putting them on a bronco 2

You guys are right on,it is the stx suspension i thought it was called hi-boy,and it would lower it about 1.5".The only problem is it looks like he cut the bracket off and now its in 2 pcs both identical and they have a small 90 degree flange off them. That picture in the above post shows what it should do,but thats not the factory cast piece in ther is it?Thanks Mike{this website is awesome for info and will hopefully post pics when i am done]

After looking at the pic closer that is the cast bracket,is that a homemade drop plate on there?

No that is what many lift kits used (even today there are still a few left using that outdated design).

The STX Ranger suspension was the "High-Rider". "Hi-Boy" is usually pinned to pre-'1978 F-250s that had the taller suspensions and divorced transfer cases (not sure if Hi-Boy was really ever an official Ford term).

Those 2 brackets that i couldn't figure out, turns out there for the radius arm bracket drop. Now i just have to make my own driver side drop plate for the passenger axle, any idea's on the thickness i should use? I only have to lower the cast bracket 1.5" to match the stx's passenger side bracket that drops the drivers side axle on my BII.I hope this all makes sense as i am at work right now at a fish hatchery and its 1am as i work graveyard shift.

I really wouldn't mess with a plate. I'm wondering why both are matched as a set? Or did you only get the one side?

Yea,was supposed to get complete parts from the stx suspension, coils, dropbrackets, pitmanarm and radius drop brackets but i had nothing for the passenger axle drop.I was looking for a pic of a stock ranger stx hi-rider option to see how the axle is mounted. Thanks

Tuff Country makes 2" brackets

if it reallly matter it was pre 77.5 lol

It's dropped like the driver's side about an inch and a half. It'll look identical to the stock one, just a bit longer. To the untrained eye, it would even look the same. There is no drop plate from the factory.

That they do, but it still doesn't help the fact that he was obviously shorted a bracket.....that just sucks.....

Did you pay for these? Or is the vehicle you got these from still available? It'd really be worth while to get it.
