Well i did the fulltime 4x4 and it ****ed up my drivers side hub. Is there anyway i can throw in axles from a newer ranger and get warn hubs? or something? im not gonna spend my money for avm's for them just to break.

Well AVM is the only manual hub they sell for the IFS ranger. The reason I think is because the PVH hubs were only used in 98 and 99.. The AVM hubs aren't that expensive either only like 160$ where as the Warn hubs for the older TTB axles is like 200$.

That said I have also heard that the AVM hubs break off from some people. but I have heard good things too. Whos to say they didn't break because the way they were used treated... Maybe they had heavy tires on? Maybe left left them locked in when they didn't need them. I plan on getting a set as soon as I got the money because I don't run big tires and my 4x4 is being really picky...

You can do a live axle setup but your going to get alot more wear on the frontend part because they are spinning constantly as well as the tires... I mean the newer rangers don't have a problem but there is a slight loss of mpg's especially with the 3.0L. You can swap the live axle setup from explorers or the newer rangers but its going to cost as much if not more then the hubs.

Thanks i did a little more reading up and it seems like the little C clip plastic pieces are wht is making them break.
