Hey to All Need Help

Hi All my names kc from southern california, been on here a million times before to get info off of tech site but my 89 ranger broke down last night in the midddle of a not so good neighborhood. Just put new fuel pump in about 6-8 months ago along with fuel filter and my truck just died. getting spark getting air but im assuming no fuel now im almost certain its the fuel pump relay or inertia switch but if i wait a lil and crank it over it will start and run ok for about 2-3 min. then just shut down like i turned the key off so any advice or help is greatly appriciated. Also i pulled the fuel filter off and had my gf turn the ignition to on position and no fuel came out from the tank side of the line so if that helps

no fuel coming from the tank? Assuming all electrical is ok, I would guess the tank pickup pump went out.

Yep sounds like the tank pump. Theres 2 pumps usually, one in the tank (lower pressure) to pump fuel out and to the outer pump (high pressure for the injectors). I don't know why its intermitten but does sound like the pump... or your out of gas?

out of gas wouldn't be the first time. Can't trust the gauge. Learned that the hard way years ago.

On my old 84 you can fill it up and in like 40 miles its on empty but you can still drive it like 200 or so..

haha ok well i just put a couple bucks in so im not sure its the gas and like i said i just replaced the fuel pump in the tank like 6-8 month ago but ima try throwin some more gas in but thanks very much everyone more to come lol
